A year and a a half ago, I bought a Lalizas sea toilet and I have had nothing but trouble since I installed it. The pump has always beed stiff, then I repaired it. After a few moths the pump broke, then I repaired it. Now it does not pump water in. I think I will give up and replace it altogether, unless I find a repair kit, which I do not think they make them.

Unfortunately most sea toilets are fairly complex bits of kit built down to a price, and as such they can be pretty unreliable. I have gone into the history of my RM69 toilets several times here, suffice to say that my chandler (to whom much thanks for their enthusiastic support) replaced the whole toilet three times and the Sealock at least five times.

The Par ones have a far more substantial feel to them and I would have one of them if I could fit it in. Unfortunately I am stuck with the RM69.

You may find that as the seals/valve is dry and not sealing properly, ie empty bowl then it will be difficult to prime. I have had the same on other toilets in the past and resolved it by pouring a bucket of water in the bowl and pumping in flush mode and then emptying it out.
Do remember to use vegtable oil regularly, a few drops in the bowl help keep it all moving a bit better and can be used to lubricate the seals.
I have used the Jabsco ones in the past and have been mainly good, although the wife nearly jumped ship over it a few times! There's a knack as with most things nautical.

If you can afford it get a Lavac. However, basic Jabsco @+/- £100 is excellent value and easier to install in place of your existing unit.

My Lavac is nearing 30 years. If it ever gives trouble it's nothing more serious than a set of seals that are as easy to replace as those of a bilge pump.Replaced mine 7 years ago, still great.
