I bought a couple of Lalizas bow nav lights to replace the old tatty ones but when I opened them up, there were no wiring terminals. There was a tab which I thought could take a spade crimp but it was too big for the standard crimps. I have managed to fashion terminals but has anyone else found this problem? There must be an easy way to wire these lights but I couldn't work it out.

A photo would be interesting but there are various size spade terminals other than the common 1/4" ones, both larger and smaller.
I have some 3/8" ones .. they turn up on car stuff from time to time ... I beleive there are 1/2" ones as well, maybe more.

Thanks VicS and yes, I'm aware of the different size crimps. The problem is that I'm in Spain, 1000 miles from my workshop and all the stuff available to me there. The local DIY stores only stock the standard sizes and I'm amazed that you can buy a light fitting that's apparently impossible to wire without some practical/engineeering knowledge. I would post a pic but I've already fitted the lights with my "proper bodge" in place :)

I made the mistake of buying one of these Lalizas stern lights before reading this thread. There is no way of getting a crimp spade of any size onto the terminals. In the end I took the light back to the chandlers and swapped it for an Aqua Signal lamp which was much easier to fit.

You are talking nonsence! I have just opened a (spare) Lalizas unit and it has perfectly normal spade terminals!!!!!

I have had a couple of Lalizas items that have been sub standered. Including a bilge pump that simply pumped the water back into the bilge via it's leaking seals.
