I haven't done the trip towing a boat, but have visited Lake Garda a number of times.
Before deciding to do the trip, I would research launching places, as from memory there aren't many public slips.

There is certainly a slip at lungolago giuseppe garibaldi peschiera del garda .
If you search for it on google maps you can see the slip on street view. I have no idea who owns it or what the charge is for its use.

There is also a marina at Peschiera and a dry stack . You will see these on google maps near the slip.

There are other dry stack and shore based storage of boats on trailers, at a few spots between Lasize and Bardolino. I think they probably all depend on a crane in and out.

A friend did it with a Glastron 16'. Loved it, but decided not to take boat again since rental boats are plenty, and the net cost of trailering both ways (ferry, tolls, parking etc.) was higher.

And then there's the risc. Anything can happen on the road and while down there he had concerns whenever not in the boat. Remember to check your insurance before going.

Plenty of info on Google (try search for Garda Italy "boat slip" -rent)
