We've only been living aboard for 7 months so I'll let you know in about 8 weeks time! As we're in La Linea at the moment and it's likely that we'll still be here in 8 weeks time, I've already earmarked a nice restaurant on Gib in Catalan Bay which comes recommended where you can get excellent fresh fish for approx £16 per head. A little bit over our normal spend for eating out but, after all, it will be a special occasion. - I'll start dropping hints soon with increased frequency!

I would have thought, as your location indicates you're in Gosport, you've a nice choice of restaurants for a variety of budgets, over in Gunwharf Quays.

We decided to splash out and treat ourselves to a really nice dinner on board, on new year's eve. We bought everything at the market in Cadiz, including some monster-sized shell-on prawns. The meal was accompanied by a white Rioja. We feasted like Kings and it cost about 10 euros in total!

that all sounds really nice. No not in Gosport. We in La Rochelle in France and hopefully next month moving onto Spain and Portugal (or there abouts)... For my birthday, my husband washed the dishes for me and cleaned the oven. These tight budgets are murder!!!

My wife deserves only the best after putting up with me.
I have planned a steam session followed by a massage, having her nails done and finally her hair. To top it off I will make sure she gets a wonderful home cooked meal.
To do his she can go in the shower to clean up just after I have used it and it is still steamy, then to the local shop where they have a massage chair on demo. They also sell nail clippers and hair brushes so she can go back to the boat and do them. I was going to give her an oil down as well but she refuses to help me service the engine.
I will serve her a wonderful meal just after she has cooked it.
Don't anyone ever tell me I am not thoughtful.

B's birthday today!! I'm offshore Holland, she is in Corfu, but she woke up to a monster bouquet of flowers (she loves flowers) and I've arranged a wee "Do" in the local for tonight, with a thai green curry for 15 peeps also whacked 50 euros behind the bar for a few drinkiepoos! Total cost 110 euros. That's what I consider fairly budget birthday, I'll take care of and pamper her when I get home!

How lucky am I? My Honey wants 50m of calibrated galvanised anchor chain for her birthday.

Well, it's actually a surprise, but I can't wait to see her face when she unwraps it.

I love it!

The first birthday after my partner moved in with me (on land, still), he gave me underwear...

... lovely warm thermal underwear!

Your just spoiled

Did you write this Colin?

Did you hear about the thoughtful Scotsman who was heading out to the pub?

He turned to his wee wife before leaving and said, "Margaret, put your hat and coat on lassie."

She replied, "Awe Jock, that's nice. Are ye taking me tae the pub with ye?"

"Naw," he replied. "I'm switching the heat aff while I'm oot," .

I've got her a new electric sander so that she can cut back the copper coat more easliy. Early present too, 'cos her birthday isn't until July but the boat comes out of the water in March.......:D

You are so considerate. She will b able to shape her nails with it and copper coat her newly shaped fingernails
