We spent a few weeks recently in the Ionian, and one evening ate at Lachi's (Someone please correct my spelling) Restaurant at the top of the hill in Spartahori. Apart from a moussaka to die for, the highlight of the evening was when his Mother(or it could have been his Granny) who must be at least 80,balanced a table on her head and danced around the floor. This was after she had done the cooking. It was an amazing performance, especially as she then challenged all comers to have a go. Everyone failed dismally. As a cabaret it was unmissable. Does anyone know of any other floorshows like this? I am thinking of Spiro and Jimmy at Port Atheni, but there must be others.

"wot is a sirtaki?"!!?!
here are some clues:
it's a bit tricky to do it on the deck of a yacht, you do it with other people, and it's a lot easier after a few retsinas...

I avoid restaurants with floor shows as tourist traps.
Generally speaking in Greece it's better to order food that's
cooked immediately before you eat it such as fish or kebab.
I think living on a boat makes you unduly appreciative of
indifferent food on shore, and prices are rising faster than quality!

That's as may be. But I can honestly say I've had better meals on my boat than I've had in many resturants!
On the other hand... this is probably due to having a SWMBO who's a fantastic cook. What she manages to knock up on two rings and an oven (sans grill) is quite amazing.
But then... having a GOOD big galley was one of the criteria for selecting the boat I have.

Ok Brendan..
Whilst on the subject of anacronyms... what's 'olewill' mean?
I see it at the end of posts quite often. <thinks> Or could it be the signature of the sender, perhaps?

A flot skipper from Sailing Holidays did that last August & won a big bottle of Metaxa. I wasn't there but everybody said he was better than the Madam. Perhaps he had a skinfull beforehand.

Cheers.

See you all next year.
John & Linda off Paramabala.
