Just a thought, as we will be driving past, does anyone know of a yacht company to hire a small yacht for say two or three days in La Rochelle??

This may not be much help...but I've skippered charter yachts from La Rochelle in the past (seem to have lost the name of the company) for corporate functions, and there is one that's based in the main marina so try contacting the Marina office and they should be able to give you the contact details.
