St Malo - (St Servan), a good place is L'Atre, on the quay facing Dinard and the Rance.

La Rochelle, try Andre's on the left of the the old port ask anyone, pricey but exceptional sea food. The showers are now in the new stainless steel building about 10 mins walk from the old port whic is the best location and cheapest. Just back from there and found it difficult to drag myself away. Bon voyage!

Yes, the terrace at Bar Andrés, by the tower, is hard to beat and not pricey at all pricey at UK standards. Chez Fred (Rue du Port I believe) is cheaper and has better food BUT nowhere near l'ambience de Andrés.

In La Rochelle, I thought Les Flots was excellent, tho' it's not the cheapest. It's at 1 Rue de la Chaine, near the entrance to the Vieux Port (on the left as you enter from seaward). Telephone 05 46 41 32 51
