Top restaurant in the shape of La Nautique, in an old sail loft overlooking the harbour, good service (friendly attentive, without being over bearing), great food (chateaubriand - enough for 3!), excellent wine (Chateau Baret 2001/2)

Obviously not the cheapest place, but worth every penny

We've been there twice, and it was so good we had exactly the same meal each time!

Worth booking

I agree

I went there at easter and had the sole on the none the best meal in many years.

Also probably the best retsaurant in Guernsey (i live there ).

Also Browns in mill street and the Cobo Bay hotel at Cobo either a bus or taxi ride.

Can't help feeling you should go the extra milage to Jersey and sample the delights we have!

We went to Jersey, and had a nice steak somewhere, but it wasn't a patch or as memorable as La Nautique

I must admit I wasn't overly impressed with St Helier, like parking our boat in a city centre on a Saturday night, mooring was left to ourselves to figure out where to go, and because of that the berthing was confused as boats tried to queue jump and hurry past into any berth.

A complete contrast to Guernsey where you're welcomed by a berthing master in their boat, told where to moor and what time you can lock in, then your guided to where you can berth and they are always on hand if you need a shove.

If you're a local to Jersey, you might like to have a word with the fishermen who put their pots on the west-east transit to St Helier, not only were we going into a unfamiliar harbour, in 1-2 metre swell, we were also having to dodge pot markers on the transit. Not really the welcome I was after.

I made the extra mileage to St Helier last year, and I'm sorry to say I'm in no hurry to rush back
