i need to know if they have a non-tidal fuel pontoon. I have been to the older rickety outer marina with (tidal) fuel berth at the top of stone steps - but is there fuel further in at another marina area nearer the main part of town? Otherwise, is there fuel at a non-tidal pontoon at nearby marinas?

Last time I was there (2003) there didn't seem to be any plans to move or improve the horrible fueling wall, but on advise from others we re fuelled in Camarinas (lovelt ria just before finistere) floating pontoon, stern to with a long fuel hose that comes down from the end, nice yacht club as well. Very easy to re fuel and a nice place to stop even in huge swell.
There was a guy who spoke perfect english there doing the fuel as well.
Have a nice trip.

Re: Marina Sada

ok, issat fuel pontoon able to take say two 30-40 foot beneteaus end to end dya think? I might go there first, but the flippin boat is 75 feet long, so the olde crap stone wall in la coruna was a bit tight with a metre at each end whilst manoevring in/out.

I tried to get fuel at the new marina in La Coruna last year, but it was not possible.
I looked in the new Reeds and a fuel dock is marked but I cannot confirm its existance.
I stupidly thought I could pick some up at the jumping off place furtur up the coast ( cannot remember the name) but only available for fishing boats, so a long and laborious walk to "nearsest" gas station was necessary, relieved to some extent by comandeering the gas station's gardener's wheel barrow to assist. My crew who had just joined to help on the Biscay Crossing started to have serios second thoughts at that stage.

I do not think you should try the new marina - even the entrance is quite narrow.

As of June last year the only fuel was at the old, tidal fuel dock which is an absolute pain. But if you can contact the fuelling company and arrange a time in advance, it becomes a little easier. We were lucky and got in first after low water, just ahead of a motor yacht which was taking on 6,000 litres. We heard later it ran the tanks dry and no-one could fuel for four days, I think, while they waited for a delivery.

marina sada

thanks for the fab help here. From the contacts given I have called the marina sada which speaks no english but excellent French, and he tells me the diesel berth is no prob for 5000 litres, or 75 feet, and is open till 8pm every day. I will aim there.

thanks again
