At an extraordinary meeting recently held you were voted the man who.......

Should name the date for the Conwy get together, so come on, step up and give us plenty of warning, late June would be good (for me) /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif H said he would talk to the Harbour Master to see if we can nick the pontoon for the night!

Get to it, come on! Tides tables out ect;

Tom

Right thats two of them stitched up? /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Give us a chance, I've just got back home. I'll ring the HM tomorrow. How many do you recons coming, I'll have to give him an idea.

Need a Saturday I fink, with the tide in the afternoon, so folk can drive to there boats, then get to Conwy. Little Ship acting as Bo Peep looking after lost sheep and MF giving a bit of a tow, to raggies who are a bit late for the tide. I mean, just enough, not warp speed. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Ang on a Mo!
OK-- The Venue for the next North Wales meet is agreed then.

Conwy.

The Pontoons off of the Liverpool Arms , ish!

Not the Marina-- OK.

Timing/ Dates.

OK, we all know the best weather during British Summertime is probably----
Errr-- Ummm --- October!!!!???

Who the heck knows?
So.

Anytime between now and Christmas then.
So.

Tides then.

Discussion last night with hlb.
'Springs ' says H.
Cos peeps have to get from England and drive to Wales.
Cos peeps in England get up late.

So there will be water over the Bar at midday.
But who the heck wants water over the Bar at Midday.
By Midday, peeps should be in the Bar with no water in sight, cept that that should be tipped rather gently and conservatively into a drink or three!!

I thought that at Small Neaps the Bar with sand can be negotiated anytime?

More Local knowledge than mine it seems.
kilter, misterg, LAMBADA, JamesTT? etc.
What do You Guys reckon?

Oh and as well as.
If Neeps.
Less water buggering about.
Less flow in the Conwy, for newbies to cope with.
Plus if it is wind against over the 'Bar' less wavy bits innit?

Cor Blimey, this passage planning stuff is ard work innit

/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Any one can come, even raggies /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif First I'll try and sort the HM out. If he says no, we'll just go anyway. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif We decided it would be a good place, after the last fiasco, pontoon, protected water. Pub close by and a water taxi.

/forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif I see you are "not accepting pm's"

However you are most WELCOME, plan is to all raft on to a pontoon, have water taxi's to the pub in the afternoon & BBQ's on the pontoon pm. Or anything better suggested.

Whatever, we need a Saturday, with some bloody water to get there. At a reasonable time. I feel a bit guilty cos I'm there already. But I recon it's a good place.

No tide stuff here and web sites want money for long distance tides. Can anyone give afternoon'ish sort of tides, for Saturdays. Sooner the better for us' as we're planning Scotland for the Summer.

Yep,
But , ye Locals.
I,m thinking.

Without looking at Tidal Curves etc.

For those that dont do that kinda stuff.

Neeps are come and go as one pleases?

Maybe -

Personally, I would look for 3m or more on the curve not to feel like I'm chancing it (1.3m draft raggie). You can get this at LW on some neaps - maybe have a go at 2m on a rising tide and smooth sea. (But having been overtaken by a big mobo at full chat when feeling our way in with 1m water in an 0.6m draft boat, the rules might be different for you lot - he kicked up enough silt and cr*p to knock our echo sounder out for a good 5 minutes - if he'd dropped off the plane, I don't think he would have floated /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif )

All a bit academic, as none of the weekends in June falls dead on neaps, so there'll always be a few hours where the water's a bit thin.

Maybe just as relevant to pick a day when peeps can make it through the Swellies without having to get-up-the-night-before - i.e p.m. high tides.

Andy

15:00 sounds ok to me. But it's more for the raggies to decide. I'm just trying to think of folk that have to get down to the boat, then home Sunday and need tide, in and out. If folk give a bit of feed back, on the time they need, then we can fix a date.

Time's not a particular problem for us as we're only in PD. But we are on a holiday last week in June first week in July, so if it's around then we'll miss it.
Just giving feedback, we realise it can't be organized around us.

Kilter will more or less sail on a wet tea towel so we aint bovvered by tides, specially as we're in the river anyway! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If the pontoons near the liverpool arms are not available there's the ones a bit further down the river towards the launching ramp.

I wondered why I've never had any /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

So, You Motley bunch of Scurvey ridden Drunkards.

Ows about the weekend which includes Saturday the 13th of June sound?

Peeps can turn op on the Friday if they want.
Dissapear on the Monday if they have time, or whatever.

Instructing all of June weekends myself.
But I,m only 25 mins away by car or R.I.B!

Cept the Peeps doing the Course on Sunday might have a short confusing day.

Thinking about it.
Pretty normall really /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

So is that it then?

13th, Superstitious anyone?
/forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

The following weekend , water is earlier.
But still dooable at 12.00 hours, latest for newbies with planing hulls.

So space looks Ok then hlb/kilter?

Don,t ferget Peeps.

Little Ship needs to know in plenty of time!

One of the Guys in Menai Bridge wants to come.
He has one of those 'Baja' Things with twin engines off of an Airaplane I reckon!

Reckons He can set of Sunday and still be there Saturday.

Summat to do with 'Flux Capacitors' I reckon

/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Shite, He passed me last Friday in the Swellies only touched the water twice, must av been doing 60 kts!
Some sight /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

So, to trancelate, if I understand correctly, which I probably dont. High tide Conway is approx 2.30pm on the 13th. So that means Tom and the raggies have to be there before then.

So whats folk think about that.??
