Hi,

I've bought a 2nd hand 2 cyl Kubota with a view to marinise it and replace a volvo Md1.

After a substantial overhaul including new bearings, rings, gaskets, serviced injectors, faced cylinder head etc. my mechanic has now put it all together and it starts immediately.

The only problem is that it is not taking any acceleration and turning the speed control does not have ANY effect at all!

It seems there is something disengaged from the control? As this is the base engine for Beta and Nanni have anyone experienced this problem?

Thanks for your help.

If the engine came from a genset then the govenor will be set at either 1500 or 3000 rpm. Sometimes this caan be adjusted or a new injector pump will be needed that can be .
Hope that is a help.

You probably had to remove the governor when you stripped the engine down. This involves disconnecting two springs inside the governor housing. Are you sure that these were reconnected?

I think that you will find that these engines are supplied with the option of variable speed or constant govenors, check with a local plant hire company to confirm. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
