Hi im thinking of putting an 1" more pitch on my prop as it seems to rev out no problem but just seems a little slow to me.

The 3 Blade prop on my Konsort is a 14" x 11" with a Volvo 2002 18hp engine
I would be pleased to hear what prop sizes other Konsort owners are using and cruising speeds so I can compare.

Regards

I would contact several propeller suppliers and ask for their advice on size and pitch for your boat and engine. If what they say matches what you have, then you do not need to change your propeller.

If any thing that seems a bit too high pitch, but if you are getting maximum revs and a speed of 6.5 knots in flat water then it is about right. You can put your boat's data into the Propcalc programme on www.castlemarine.co.uk to get a recommendation.

The power you have is marginal for the weight of the boat, and although it should achieve maximum speed in flat water it will probably struggle in adverse conditions.

Not the same boat, we have a Fulmar and recently replace the fixed two bladed prop on our Bukh 24 hp engine from a 15*11 to a 16 inch by 13 pitch. We can not now get to the max revs of 3500, 3200 is now max, but are much happier with the speed at crusiing revs of 2500 which is now around 6 knots when it was previously just under 5 and it was noisy getting to 6 knots.

I spent some time discussing this with Darglow engineering who we brought the prop off and previously reviewing this forum over a year or so can only recomend you talk to a specialist like Darglow.
