HI Guys
We have the above genset on our boat and i'm just starting to get it in shape as previous owner - as per the rest of the boat didnt really give it attention.
In taking the sound shield off, I discovered that the stainless elbow that exits from the sound shield is rotten - holes in it mainly due to crevice corrosion.. rather than replace it with the same at great expense, i'm wondering if anyone has used a) a fibreglass elbow (there is a 135deg elbow closer to the engine exhaust outlet) or b) my preferred option just have the wet exhaust pipe coming straight out of the sound shield - its only 2" and i have some extra flexi stuff that should work.. I just wonder if anyone else has done either of these as the stainless elbow will just continue to rot.
