KODEN KGC-960 GPS - Firmware Upgrade

Hi All,

I'm new to this forum.

Can anyone help me re where to find the latest firmware for a KODEN KGC-960 GPS. This unit is about 6 or 7 years old.

We have connected a simrad NMEA repater and it seems the NMEA data is perhaps not 100% true to the current standards, and I've heard that new firmware could help.

Hoping someone can assist.

If it is like most other older Koden equipment, it will be a chip change internally.

Any idea what version your unit is at?

Hi Hitech, I donltknow but there are 3 eproms in the back of the unit and I have access to an eprom burner - but not sure if the eprom sizes can be done - shoul dbe OK - so if I can get hold of a softcopy of the firmware that would be a start.

I think the issue is somewhere with V1 and V2 of the NMEA 0813 standard as you can see the following is different.

The BOD statement below which I captured from the unit - differs from the Nmea v2.0 sentence formats in the nmea v2.0 manual I have.
