Has T and R on case. Transmit and Receive? Has red LED. Has a trim tab that can be accessed through hole.

I have no idea what it is.

Then I found this blue OR green light things that have a nice cigar switch selector - but what is it for - boy racers in hatch backs? Not sure if they are LEDs, but guessing they must be as no filters to be seen - have not tried to take apart.

Thanks if you have any ideas.7.jpgx.jpgz.jpg6.jpg5.jpg4.jpg3.jpg2.jpg1.jpg

Thanks.
Bit beyond my hobby electronic skills, but the cigar lighter plug will come in handy with that switch.
Yes exactly. I have come a long way through hobby electronics (and proffessional) When once a single transistor was a thing of great beauty and value today is nothing. Beautiful complex electronic boards that were once a great prize are just throw away items. I have haunted car boot sales and auction houses and bought all sorts of beautiful electronic junk. But als it is all useless unless you know what it is and how to use it. Yesterday at car boot sale someone was selling old computer stuff. Old cards and hard drives. It seems only yesterday that these were the peak of technolgy excellence and now you can't give it away. I have boxes of junk so I know.
So just throw away your discovery. Just accept that times have moved on very fast where electronics are concerned. Or just hord it until someone else throws it away on your demise. good luck olewill
