Many years ago, I had a knife, chrome pliers and S/S spike/shackle key in a really tough, hide sheath. I think it was sold by Cosalt or Simpson Lawrence. I have scoured the catalogues and chandlers without success.
Any clues or suggestions re sourcing a replacement, gratefully received.

You are refering to the Currey Riggers Kit with pliers. They are sold by Unipart Marine (formerly Mark Dowland Marine) who supply many UK chandlers.

If you do a Google search using "Currey knife pliers" you will come up with a number of suppliers including these .

The best of all those is the Green River knife. I got one before going to pre-sea training school in 1958 & it lasted until some B***** d stole it when I was invalided off a ship in the Falklands. I made my own holster set over the years, simliar to the Currey one, but absolute top quality pliers & a s/s spike made out of a Stellite Valve spindle from one of the generators, which was ground to a semi flat point. Cut & spilced just about any & everything for most of my career. Used to shake some of the so called Able Seamen, when the Mate could teach them a thing or two about splicing rope & wire!
