We ordered a load of stuff for the boat last year and one of the people working at Howells was coming to the West Country to visit someone and so delivered it in person to our house! Didn't charge for the delivery either if I remember correctly.
We have used them several times and always been very happy with their service.
Agree with all the above comments. I've been there in person several times and spent hours looking through their racks to ensure the timber colours/grain match and have never been made to feel a nuisance. Also, if you ask them to machine to your spec they are spot on to the millimetre. Highly rated.
However!!!!
The ridiculous prices they charge for their mouldings are justified by Mr Howells (senior) claiming "That's because we can get away with it!"
I'm surprised to see you say they are expensive. I've compared them with companies like Onward Trading and found that they come out very favourably. If you know of another company which is a reliable supplier of teak mouldings I'd be interested to know who it is.
I used to use a great, relatively cheap local supplier but he gave it all up and emigrated after being hounded by the IR.
