I will be painting the deck soon and i was planning to carry on using Hempel Blakes deck paint which i believe is a chlorinated rubber based paint; It is not the greatest finish and it does not last for more than two seasons..

However, i was reading today on the latest PBO magazine the article about the renovation of a yacht which was painted with Kiwi Grip deck paint; it looks very good and i was wantering how many forumites have used the Kiwi Grip deck paint and the level of satisfaction.

I sat down to compose a reply thinking it must be two years since I did the decks of my ferro with Kiwi Grip.
Once the brain cells woke up I realised it is nearer five years.
It is not cheap, but after years on a previous boat using Interdeck and Weathershield masonry paint, I needed something which would cover a badly hacked about surface. Deck fittings had been removed or moved, there were channels cut in the surface for cables - it was a mess.
Preparation is key (pun) and although the stuff is forgiving there is little point in applying it to loose substrate, so I used a very coarse grit in a random orbital sander.
Application was with the boat in the water. The YouTube videos were a handy reference although I used a trowel instead of a brush. Texture using the special roller supplied. Its acrylic so cleaning up is a doddle.
I did all the decks of a 42 footer with one 5 litre tin, although I bought an additional 2.5 litre as back-up and for touch-up if required. It is still unopened.
One of the main advantages that the degree of texture can be varied: light in low-traffic areas and heavier where its needed, like the foredeck. Vary the texture by the number of passes with the roller.
I am pleased to endorse the product.

I too put it on about three, might have been four, years ago and have very similar views to Gordonmc above. I used white and I've been pleasantly surprised by how little cleaning it needs. I'd definately use it again.

I decided to use it this year, and it is a great - if expensive - product. Very easy to put on, and the surface doesn't have to be pristine. I used the light grey, and I'm really pleased with the result

I painted the non-slip areas of my Co32's deck with kiwi grip a few years ago, must be at least 3-4 years ago now.

Seems to last well, I'm very pleased with it. There are a couple of places in high-traffic area that I need to touch up but I have some left over from the first application that I hope it still good to use.

There are cheaper options but I would use again without hesitation.
