Kites up to 60degrees...

60 degrees isn't that impressive.....

A decent reaching kite should easily obtain that in moderate conditions. And an asymetric reaching sail should go higher than that.
 
I was surprised also, an off the shelf Seateach spinnaker used on a run west thro Poole entrance then rounding up I found it still drawing well at 50 degrees (provided you pole it down almost to the deck). By that time its really a cruising chute, so I found I could do away with the pole. Using a strop off the bow roller we founf=d we could snuff it with a snock and tack it!. In flat water it worked up to 45 degrees on the wind. I wouldn't race that way but it was interesting to see how high it would go!
