Did the trip this August....the costs are nominal(46ft) and are per single passage.....tip ...spend at least one night at Brunsbuttle and on the lake...well worth it......
When you get to the Kieler Fjord you will(should!) get a warm welcome if drop into the British Kiel Yacht Club, run by the Military over there, and recently featured in the new book "Who the hell is Stokey Woodhall?" Seem to recall he once ran the whole length of the canal to raise money for charity.
About two years ago I seem to remember a 36 footer was about 12 quid, one way. I dont think you can get returns, but you pay at the Keil end either way. Rensford, about half way down is a lovely little stop and the marina is a very short walk to the town.
about 75Dm for 16 mtr in 2000.worth going via the Eider though as tides in estuary are lighter than elbe, and a pleasant day 1/2 to boot
eider + half of NOK is about the same as all of the Nok
Nok tolls paid at Kiel, and will onlyaccept DM and no cards, however there is a cash machine about 3 KM away,!!!, I know because I walked it one year!
Return ticket not available, dont underdeclare length as keeper has a book of pictures to identify common yacht types, saw him using it while arguing with a dutchman.
Rendersburg offers amarina which I have not tried & a good anch at the top nearer the town. Most pilot books speak of anch in flemhurdersee, which is unnessarily small(only allowed between 4 buoys) & crowded at the weekends in the summer
