Khalkis bridge closure

For your information - I received this email from Evoikos Sea Centre this morning.

Good morning.

Evoiko Sea Center inform you that the bridge of Chalkis will be closed from
1st of October till the end of December.
It is better to inform all your friends owners of boats for this.

And we can recommend Petries on Evia, despite the somewhat negative comments in the pilot. Perhaps the most friendly fishermen we have ever encountered, not in the least put out when we berthed in their spot.

Plus 1 - lovely place untouched by international tourism. We moored on the concrete jetty to port as you go in past what looked like 2 laid up trawlers. Pilot is somewhat negative on this - but perhaps that was before the new jetty/harbour wall was built.
