Hi
Does anyone have any knowledge of the sailing capabilities of the Kent 8m Motorsailer. I am not totally sure of the keel configuration in as much as it may have bilge plates?
I went aboard a pontoon moored Kent and she seemed a little light and heeled quick quickly when stepping on board. Anyone have experience of what they are like underway
Thanks
P.

Many boats will show initial heel quite easily. It does not necessarily reflect the overall stiffness at greater heel angles. That initial heel might indicate round bottom which is good for light wind performance. My 21fter feels like it is going to topple right over when one person climbs over the side from the dinghy. It is light but can be made to go very well.

It might indicate that it relies on keel weight for stability more than form shape. So you can't tell unless you sail it in a blow.

I hope you can get some good answers here. However beware everyone loves their own boat untill they sell it. But you migh get usefull responses. good luck olewill

Not going to have great windward performance, with very shallow draught and high topsides, but should sail OK offwind. Ballast ratio about 30%.
