Nothing beats an electric blanket in my opinion….but what about hot water bottles ?….here are my favourites and come highly recommended by me
First the Scottie Hot Water Bottle

These things are amazing…you microwave them…put them in your bed perhaps an hour or two before you go to bed…and as long as they are covered they have enough heat to keep you toasty when you get up in the morning…quite incredible. We use up to three in a single bed to keep all zones heated, but only on a cold night.
The next recommendation are
City Comfort…

Again fabulous to use…the Scottie has two flaws…first you need a microwave and they are hard…very hard…not cuddleable and if you jump into bed and wack your knee on it, it’s painful.
The City Comfort (and probably because it’s made in the Far East, it is also sold with different brand names) doesn’t need a microwave, it has its own plug in docking station and takes about ten minutes to fully heat up. But most importantly it’s soft and squishy like a real hot water bottle…lovely to be next to. It doesn’t retain it’s heat as well as the Scottie but it stays hot for an impressive amount of time…and it’s good for just sitting watching tv with it stuffed up your jumper

We dream of 10 degrees being reached in Summer. We are sleeping under a 4.5 tog duvet that we both find a bit much. Our heating is a log burner downstairs.

I was told that what husbands are for…but after she made me take blood pressure medication…I don’t put out any heat….so the wife has hot water bottles 😃
I did wonder if your post was drug induced.
Are you sure it really is blood pressure medication?

Hi, during cold weather, the Eber D5 heats the entire boat evenly and comfortably. We keep the bedroom door closed, and the air escapes through the gap at the bottom of the door, which also heats the floor. The bed is nice and warm when we go to sleep, and we leave the door slightly open so that carbon dioxide rises to the pilothouse, where it escapes. We don't need electric blankets, and I've only seen hot water bottles in British films.

I wonder how many happy marriages started with the line "excuse me my hot water bottle is no longer hot, can you help?"
It’s a good start…they’re in bed together…they’re talking to each other…and if the spouse actually got up to refill their partner’s hot water bottle…I’d say that they are in good shape

Last night I put the Scottie hot water bottles in bed at 9 pm….I didn’t make the bed until just now (5 pm)…and they were still warm and the bed is toasty ?
Incredible ! when you think it only took 7 minutes to heat up in my underpowered microwave (4 minutes at home)
