For 74.99 - I bought a twin pack of Cobra HH VHF's ..... which take AAA batterys - dry or rechargeable ... with charger etc. supplied.
OK - only 2W max power ... but at 39.99 each or the twin pack as above ... I thought great standby items ...

Any comments on them - anyone else have them ... any quibbles / daft thing about them that I should know ... I'm waiting delivery at moment - so thought I'd ask .... Nice to know the quirks / things to watch / note ...

Yep we have a pair of these and so far have not had any problems with them.
Having two is great as we can keep one charging at home and the other on the boat.
If we go away for an extended trip then both come onboard - one is left out of the water proof cover and the other kept for emergencies- ready to go.

Yes they are a bargain - yes they are only 2W but 2W is better than nothing.

Mind you if you had shopped around you may have saved about another £10 - but then again being an Aberdonian it's not surprising I found a better deal /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Blimey - I thought I did well ... the other thing of course is I live in latvia - and often the P&P is the killer ... this one at 15 quid was better than most ...

Nice to hear that someone thinks them worth it ... another guy I did the Swedish islands in company with - he had one and we had no trouble communicating between the boats even at distance...
