Suggest you read the advice on the RYA site. There are no restrictions on keeping your boat in Spain, but need to have the important documentation, particularly the registration document (SSR is OK), insurance certificate in Spanish, radio licence. also useful to have VAT evidence and a skippers certificate such as an ICC.

Be aware that things change if you decide to become resident in Spain, but if you are just keeping your boat there and living here you are just a visitor.

It is also sensible to equip your boat with the appropriate safety equipment, particularly if you are planning to sail through Portuguese waters.

Someone else will give you chapter and verse, but if you keep a boat in Spain for more than a certain amount of time (6 months?) the Spanish Govt will conclude you are a resident and start levying various taxes on you.

Not quite right, Ken. It is not the length of time the boat is there, but the length of time the owner is there that determines if he is considered resident. The main tax if he does become resident can be avoided by declaring the boat before he becomes resident.

just down from there a place called CABO-ROIG my boat is about 34 ft and comes in all in vat, water, elec at 3500 E a year thyat about the same as i pay in west wales all in

is uno antifoul anodes we use in the uk ok for the med

Are you asking about anti foul or anodes? In either case you use the same as in UK although you may find that just as in UK some anti fouling is more effective than others in particular places. Buy your anti foul in the UK before you go as it is much more expensive in Europe. personally I would change to Jotun Seaqueen before you go. Generally more effective and longer lasting as well as substantially cheaper than Uno.
