i have a westerly pageant that has had new keel bolts in the last 5 years but i think the seal has gone on the starboard side, how easy is this to re seal or is this a job fo rthe proffesionals.
Survey was caried out early this year with no fault reported but after shake down from Southampton to Pompey i noticed small ingress of water when on a port tack. I believe it is just a sealing problem as i get no ingress when sat on mooring.
Any advise would be great

The thing is,ideally you should be able to completely exclude water around the threads were they enter the hull especially if the studs are stainless. As you may know stainless steel can corrode if wet and deprived of oxigen wich is exactly what can happen to keel bolts or studs. In real life there is always a bit of movement with bolt on keels particularly with high aspect ratio ones.So water will always find a way in.So what I would do, assuming there's no visible movement, would be to apply sealeant to the underside of the plates and tighten the nuts.
If you want to do it really properly I'm afraid you'll have to drop the keel and reseal but there's no guarantee that water won't seep in with time.
