Kayak in Barry

HI

I am looking to go "paddling" around the harbour area. I am fully aware of the tidal situation and will plan my trip in line with them, and will obvioulsy be taking all the nessacary precautions.

Can people suggest the best place to "launch" from, or any places to avoid?

There is a sort of slip easy enough for a kayak in the north east corner of the old harbour where once a hovercraft went from.

Should be good for secure parking too, but only at high tide.
