The perfect tender for us which now leaves the dinghy and outboard redundant. So...if anyone is looking for a 2.3 dinghy and Mariner 2.5 4 stroke outboard, give me a shout.

when I think Kayak... I am not thinking tender....so what kind of Kayak have you bought Lisa... not the little inflatable type I'm thinking?

Yep FF a two man inflatable one: http://airkayaks.wordpress.com/2011/05/14/infinity-odyssey-295-inflatable-kayak-product-review/ (the blue one). We've never really used our tender in the 3 years we've had it and even less since buying the outboard 2 years ago which sounds strange but we've used this outboard maybe 5 times since new so for us, it's pointless having it just sitting there.
We can use the kayak for everything we need tbh even from anchor to shore. It just seems ideal for us.

Hmm, interesing - I'd be interested to hear how you get on with it throughout the season.

Until we get some longer cruising legs our tender doules as our liferaft, so won't be swapping fit for a kayak just yet.

Haha....can't believe you aren't gonna be at the BBQ Steve :(

VERY SORE POINT Lisa...... but i WILL be on a boat called "Maid of the Mist" getting drowned under Niagra Falls ALL because thats where the lady (swmbo) wants to spend her half century b.day !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hmmm East Cowes or Niagra?? I'm with your wife on that one lol. Have a great time and I'll have a horse burger in your honour ;)

it's not a total loss Steve, if my memory serves me well from my trips to the region in the 90's on business, the finger lakes aren't a million miles away for a quick boaty fix and I also recall the area being a massive wine producer so fill your liver whilst out there too mate ;)

Maid of the Mist trip is fantastic! Niagara wine is appalling! Have a great trip Steve :)

You've decided that the "wet ass" & dripping sleeves look is de rigeur this season then? As others have said, don't sell the tender until next season when you may have a little more experience of the stability & load capacity of inflatable kayaks.

L,

SR obviously forgot a couple of letters I've corrected it, hope you don't mind SR ;)

good luck with the inflatable, tbh, I wouldn't even dare thinking of using such a thing up there. It's almost fine in the med during July & August where falling in the water is cooling you from the heat not freezing you :p but carrying stuff with it???
