KAMD Error Code

Firstly, I have tried to find the code!!
On my KAMD 44 EDC, the diagnostic lights are flashing 1:6 or 6:1 can't quite remember which way round. I gather from what I can find that it is to do with the electronic controls. On that point; the ignition has started to get a bit sticky of late. in that sometimes you have to move the throttle in and out of neutral a time or too for the ignition to recognise that it is in neutral to start.
Meanwhile it is really frustrating that VP don't seem to put pdf manuals online. My boat came without one. By contrast my little old Yamaha 2.5hp, 2004 model, has all the diagrams you will ever need online thanks to Yamaha.
I realise that this is not a fresh topic, so apologies!!

Gents,
Thanks so much! I have asked a local independent VP guy to have a look but I will have a thorough read of the stuff you have put up and go from there. She is on a mooring and he was going to stop by when on the water sometime this week.

I have printed the pages for gear lever calibration and will try it. It is currently horrible where she is moored - lumpy onshore easterly - so might leave it for a day. Hoping to make the most of the weather and go up to Fowey for the weekend.

So, I followed the calibration sequence - twice - and still it is flashing the same code. I do remember seeing a similar thread but haven't had a chance to trawl through the search yet. The ignition did recognise neutral and the engine started no problem, but I would be happier if I could get to the root of it. Anyone remember the previous thread?
Cheers.

So, an update. Went down to the boat again and realised that I had made a schoolboy error. It is flashing 6;1 which is the fuel temperature. As the engine was cold it couldn't be that. Spoke to the local VP agent as supposed to a self-employed boat mechanic and he reckons that it is most likely diesel bug. He will get one of his guys to have a look but thinks that it is bug on the sensor.
So there we are. No going to Fowey for the weekend and a ballache to get the fuel tank clean.

Could it not be a faulty sensor or the wireing if its giving the fault code on a cold engine? Normally I would expect a temp sensor (apart from possibly an air temp sensor) to be a sealed unit, how could cold bug on a cold engine affect its resistance?

Do the pre-filters look clean? What does the fuel look like?

If all looks fine then I agree that it's more likely to be a dodgy connector or a duff sensor (the sensor is inside the injection pump).

@kashurst knows a bit about this.

The VP guys are going to have a look early next week so hopefully some answers then. Still finding my way around the engine and systems - only had her since February. I will try to have a look at the weekend too.
