Due to crustation build up on the 'rack' when I trimed the leg up it slipped a 'cog' and now reads -7 insted of -5 in the fully down position. I note that the potentiometer is fixed and has no adjustment.
Any easy way of making the correction?

Trim up to about +20 or so, undo the small screw the secures the end of the track, push the track to the side a little to give you enuf space to twiddle the potentiometer one tooth anticlockwise and re-engage (it's probably only jumped one tooth).

If it's fully down, the potentiometer is v.close to the top attachment. If it's fully up, it's hard up against the bottom securing screw. About half way, you should be able to get enough wiggle to shift it one cog.

I think that you will find there is soem adjustment on the potentiometer in te inside of teh transom platefrom memory 2 scres to loosen slightly and away you go. if it has just slipped and now reads -7 instead of - 5 i would be inclined to leave alone for teh time being until it gets service. If you use the gauge to trim then you just need to -2 from whatever you normally fun them at which i suspect is 0?

The problem with doing it from the inside is that you don't know where '0' is, the rule of thumb is to set the drive so that the cav plate is horizontally inline with the bottom of the hull when viewed from the side, which represents '0' trim, then you will have about minus 3-5 when down and about plus 5-6 up at which point the trim button should cut out preventing you from raising it too high while driving, although in my experience most boats will only go plus 3-4 max before the prop begins to ventilate anyway.
