We appear to have a leak on the back side of our impeller housing.
is there an obvious fix for this? Seals? Whole new housing?

The seals can be replaced by someone that knows what they are doing.
The pump shaft does need to be in exactly the right place when they reassemble it.
Removing / refitting the pump is easy (I could manage it).
