I *think* I noticed a drip around the sea water pump on one of my KAD300's the other day.

If so, I suspect it's just the seals that will need replacing rather than a whole rebuild kit.

1) Does anyone know part no's or can direct me to an online source (or tech specs so I can order locally) to et the 2 seals?
2) I know there's an online guide somewhere (and i'm certain I bookmarked it, but can't find it) to carry out the task. I've done dozens of these on older engines (Perkins etc) but I remember something tricky about this one.... someone along the line of how far you press the shat back in (making sure to measure it before removing it)

Hi N
1. any bearing supplier, but make sure that they have stainless springs in the seals
2. straightforward job, just make sure that the shaft does not protrude towards the engine more after reassembly as it then end-loads the fuel pump and restricts the amount of fuel delivered.
3. will send some pics... sorry cant find the specs etc

Alt - I'm not sure on the aftermarket seal I got mine OEM Volvo from key parts although being SKF that's going to be as good if not better.

I did mine a couple of years ago - Is the boat still in the water - if so I used a 22mm (1/2 drive) socket with one end taped up and plugged that into the hose that feeds the impellar pump (just to save sea water entering the bilge)

if I remember rightly I only did the from seal as it was only a drip of water.

PM sent
Jon
