KAD strainer basket leaking.

Port engine strainer leaking water through the threaded lid. There is no seal for these things are there? I have a seal on the basket and a cap on top that. But water is getting past and leaking out the lid. Seals, baskets etc all new as of this season. New strainer housing required?

Yep mine is like that, the seal for the basket may be upside down ?
I put some grease round them too, not a drip.

Focus on the seal around the basket - it’s the middle section of the lid pressing down on the black rubber basket seal that makes it waterproof, not the threaded bit.

ta. I'll check the seal and grease if need be. Not had it leak before that I had noticed but on inspection the water pump housing is showing signs of corrosion so it must have been.

Try vaseline on the cap that sits on the seal, it stopped mine from weeping. Also check carefully the lid has not cracked, I had this and wasn't obvious at first.
