KAD 44 EDC replacement ecu's

yes we have discussed this already, no new ecu's available, might be some by christmas ......

would it be possible to build some basic box that allows the KADs to run in limp mode so we can at least potter about ?
i know zero about the ecu's but this would be a helpful unit for ? the whole KAD range ?

who could build / design such an ecu ?

It's just a diesel engine, same as all the others in principle, so maybe someone like these guys could create a map for their ecu that could run the engine.

They say on the website they're confident that their ecu can drive any diesel engine, so maybe worth giving them a call, ibet it'll take some development though.

I can't see many people fitting an ECU unless it's been thoroughly tested and delivers the same functionality as the OEM unit. Even in potter mode it's still got to control the gear selection, monitor sensors, light up the control pad, etc.

My advice to anyone with EDC I engines is to be very careful and avoid anything that might damage the ECU, in particular running with knackered batteries, alternators, etc.
