KAD 44 EDC hours displayed

Just replaced the dud LCD hour display, excellent item and helpful YouTube link

Displays 335 hrs, which matches the old LCD
But Volvo has checked the engine and recons its has done 590 hrs, which would make more sense

Are Volvo just wrong or ?

Perhaps the Tacho had been replaced once before at around 255 hours??

Tacho is supposed to measure the hours direct from the KAD.
Previous owner not exactly the most active one, cant see that this has been done before, but i am happy to be corrected.

No, if you put a whole new tacho in, it will start from Zero.

So the LCD displays the hours in the memory of the tacho, not from the KAD ?

In which case i could leave the ignition on until it matches the KAD reading ?
Or is there an issue with leaving the ignition on 24/7 ?
I am on shore power so the battery will be fine.

Yes, memory is in the tacho. Leaving ignition on won't work AFAIK, as it only clocks up hours when engine is running from a signal in the alternator.
