What would be the order of operations for a KAD32. Is it fairly straightforward for someone that is happy using a toolkit (but not to the level of stripping/rebuilding !).

It's something to do with a valve rocker "post" that gets bent when the valve clearance gets beyond a certain limit. The valve then breaks off the pedestal and drops into the piston creating havoc and a VERY wrecked engine!! 'Bout as technical as I can tell you!!

I would recommend you have them done asap - it could cost (literally)£15k

Hi Spannerman
Very interesting info thanks regarding the tappet adjustment. I have a KAD44 and I carry out normal basic servicing, oil, filters, belts etc myself normally. I have the manual detailing how to do the tappets and have done car tappets in the past but was a little confused what you (and the VP manual) refer to as "valves rocking" I presume this means that the rockers are at the top or bottom of their stroke. If you could clear this up for me I am going to attempt the tappet adjustment myself, (with my mate as assistant and moral support!!).
Thanks
Paul
