Afternoon gents

Can anyone throw any light on the correct oil pressure and temperature these engines should run at. I have a issue with my port engine seems to be lower oil pressure than the starboard and if it goes over 2400 revs it starts to get hot the other engine seems to have more umph than tne other also.. at 2499 re s the tempature runs about 10 devrees warmer than the starboard any advice would be helpfull cheers

The manual says that the oil pressure with a warm engine should be 0.41 -0.64 Mpa and the thermostat should begin to open at 79C and be fully open at 96C.
Remember that the hotter an engine gets the thinner the oil will be and have lower oil pressure, so I would get your temp problem sorted out first, then the oil pressure.
Have the coolers ever been cleaned out, it could be that the oil cooler, heat exchanger, and intercooler need descaling. The best way to check is go around the cooling system with an infrared thermometer to find out where its getting hot.
Regarding the oil pressure the only sure way is to connect a pressure gauge and get a direct reading.

Anywhere between 85c and 90c is "fine".
90c - 95c is "hot".
Anything over 100c will trigger the overheat alarm, and is not good news.

Ithanks, I suppose the oil pressure is a result of the engine running hot then its running at about 40psi the starboard runs at a 60psi And is a constant pressure. Is it a involved job to descale is it something you can do yourself or is it best left to a expert

If the low oil pressure is only noticed when the engine is hotter than 80 degress C the first thing to check would be the raw water impeller.
