Good Morning All
Just to let the people know who were interested, after upgrading the belt tensioners on my Kad 42 to the upgraded ones, this seams to have solved the problem.
Did a good 120 mile run at the weekend, with plenty of use of the superchargers and not a squeak !
I no this is a expensive upgrade, but its well worth it.
If anyone is looking to upgrade dont forget to order the belt as its differant, (well it looks the same, and seams the same size but has a diff part no)
Also if anyone is interested in some old type tensioner wheels and (4) and some new water pump belts I have some

Hope this is of use

Regards

Ian

I have KAD43's and am not sure if I have this modification as standard. Any chance of posting some photo's of the two types?

They are quiet easy to tell the differance, if you look at the supercharger tensioner
the old type hads a small tensioner wheel with 2 allan key holes in the centre for adjustment.
The new type have a bolt stuck out with a nut on the end and a bigger tensioner wheel.there is a locking nut at the base of the bolt.

I think (may be wrong) that the Kad 43 had this modification already done

Im at boat on tuesday so will take couple of pitures

Hope this help

Spider

1998 Targa in marina with Kad44s did not have upgraded tensioners, they are easy to tell if you just take off the black engine cover you can see the supercharger belt tensioner quiet easy, if its got the 2 allen key holes in it, its the old style tensioner

Thanks for asking this - we're in the same situation. They are only noisy just after start-up and only then at low revs. But, as the first 30 mins of our trip out to sea is done at low speed it can be a bit tiresome. Can't be doing the belts much good either, presumably?

The worst part is trying to get on the plane when the belt is squeeling as you may notice that the revs drop, maby depending on wether its the water pump or the supercharger belt is slipping.
Also the tensioners are know to self destruct, this happened on a mates boat with Kad 44s
I also noticed that there was less black dust in the engine bay which is good news.
