evening one n all.....those of you who have seen my website will know that my s24 "thanks mum" has not had a swim at all this year!!!!!..... sob sob sob... and its not looking good for the forseeable future....more sobbing......my question to my peers is, the whole lump is bathed in wd40,(no, not the belts etc) and im happy to leave all well alone, but if it was a petrol i would pull the sparkplugs and squirt in some new oil. what would you do or recomened?? the oil has only done a 10min run since the last oil n filter change. it lives on the trailer so no probs with leg to worry about. thanks in advance..

Ideally, take it for a swim and run it properly up to temperature.

Disconnecting the seawater inlet hose and running another hose into a bucket, then firing her up would splash some oil around inside, but probably marginal benefit. You'd need to run antifreeze thru again to finish off.

I can't suggest much as I don't know about the winterising process. Some suggest not running the diesels for very short periods, unless you are going to get them nice and warm (full operating temp.).

Dont forget to keep a charge in the batteries, and jack up the trailer till the main bulk of the weight is off the springs and tyres, then leave some heavy duty jack stands taking the weight.
