the engine has been serviced, but now the boat is out, quite what do I do to the seawater side? Do I just poor antifreeze mix in through the sea water strainer, while someone turns over (or is that starts?) the engine ?

According to the Operators Manual for my KAD42's (essentially the same engine) you should flush through with fresh water to remove salt and then fill with a 50/50 fresh water/anti-freeze mix.

Another option is to simply drain the raw water side but according to the good book this won't prevent corrosion or the possibility of salt crystals forming.

Run the drive up and disconnect the water hose at the front of the drive (under the bellows)and insert a length of hose and tighten the hoseclip again, run the drive down and place the end of the hose in a large bucket which has a hosepipe with fresh water filling it.
Start the engine and check that water runs out of the relief holes (one at each side of the lower part of the transom shield) I usually place the supply hosepipe into the hose going to the drive initially to ensure that the pump primes.
Then run the engine for about 10 mins at about 1500 rpm, monitoring the bucket so that it doesn't empty faster than it is being filled.
Have two 2 gall buckets of 50/50 water and antifreeze ready and when you are finished with flushing swap the hose to these so that the engine sucks up the mix, when you see the antifreeze begin to come out in the exhaust stop the engine, reconnect the original water hose and the jobs done.
Takes about 20 mins.

I use a large 25ltr container with a garden tap fitted to the bottom of the container supplied by b&q cost about £6.00.I put this on the bathing platform so that it is higher than the outdrive legs so that gravity will help. Just remember to keep the container topped up with water whilst running your engine. I fit a hose to this and then I put outboard muffs onto the other end of the pipe to which I then place over the outdrive water intakes. Run the engines just using freshwater for 10 minutes. Then i refill the container with 50/50 antifreeze and water and run the engine until I see antifreeze coming out of the outdrives.

The other problem with draining is salt water will run all over your engine and rust it away for years.
