Kad 300 Turbo type ?

Hi - I am just wondering what type volvo used on the Kad 300 engine ? mine has signs of some slight rust near the connection at the elbow, which I intend to carefully remove.

I have been searching the net and coming up with K26 if this rings any bells?

Yes that sounds right. My kad 32s are the same. Check the numbers cast on the housings. You can get these remanufactured from several Chinese suppliers on ebay. You can buy kits also to do the rebuild.

The Borg Warner K26 is fitted to my KAD43 but you will need the longer number to identify your specific unit.
I have recently bought two new OE units at £700 each because of nervousness of recon units which even fitted by professionals have been known to blow.
If it's not affecting performance I'd say don't touch. Just keep up to date with engine oil changes and coolent changes.

Hi Thank you for the replies - I am just thinking ahead - however that said I took my exhaust elbow off and found corrosion which as I said earlier I intend to remove very carefully and have a vacuum cleaner at hand whilst doing so to remove ant particles (providing the swmbo isn't looking).

I am in the process of gathering materials up for fabricating a new elbow from 316 stainless steel and maybe using a stainless insert on the turbo end to eliminate any further corrosion.
