Just taken up sailing and looking for crewing opportunities

Having completed a RYA Competent Crew course and enjoyed some sailing with friends in the past I am looking for opportunities to get some more sailing experience

I am 50 years old but don't feel it and hoping to meet new people and see new places whilst building my sailing experience

Fairly flexible but do have some work comittments (it pays the bills) would like to sail over Christmas and New Year if possible UK or anywhere else

I am a non-smoker, enjoy real ale and have been know to have the odd rum or port but equally enjoy a nice cuppa tea

Happy to pay my way and can cook (not Jamie Oliver though)

You don't say where you're based, or how far you're willing to travel?

You should find plenty of opportunities here, but it might also be worth registering with http://www.sailingnetworks.com I've had several weekends with skippers who've been looking for crew for cruising and racing: I'd consider carefully offers to join a racing crew as, once committed, the costs might spiral.

Channel's next cruise is this weekend, and Ashdown's is the week after. Membership is peanuts. Costs on board are shared.
