I am on the boat and it is a lovely sunny day with light winds, perfect for sailing.
However I just want to sit here and enjoy the relaxing feeling but part of me thinks I should be doing something.
At the moment drinking tea and relaxing is winning.

When the sun moves over the yardarm you can move onto something stronger after all it is Friday.
I've heard about people that refuse a drink until a given time of the day or day of the week. Even countries where serving beer before 12:00 is forbidden and in all cases only served with food.

I don't get it.

My desire for coffee, food, water, beer, wine etc. comes from a natural "I'd love a xxx just now" and that is it. 24/7/365

I can only conclude that there are numerous people who have successfully found a way of getting away from their wives. I'm sure that there must have been occasions during my fifty years of cruising when I sat and did nothing but none come to mind.

" I should be doing something."

You are doing something, relax, enjoy the moment and don't listen to the silent sneaky goading of the Rat Race syndrome.

(y) :)

Since I retired from work, one of the hardest things I've had to learn is how to do nothing without feeling guilty.

But as long as I achieve something every day, whether it be a little gardening, housework or tidying, then I feel the day hasn't been wasted.

I wish I could slow down,if I start something it seems I have an unwritten deadline to finish it

Just enjoy it. The majority of boats in our club don't move from one year to the next. But the owners are usually sitting drinking tea in the cockpit... sailing is very strenuous.
