As someone from the West of Ireland, I never knew what the big deal was when people harped on about Loch Lomond, and I never thought i'd see it.

Well, sort of un-planned i'm in Oban for a week on a powerboat fun week with the lads, and passed by Loch Lomand.

All I can say is WOW! I nearly crashed the numerous times admiring the view. I'm going to make it a point to visit the Loch again during the summer, and i'll be on to you guys to show me around!

Will upload pics later

And here we go, in no particulat order:

Dont spoil the secret. And we have many more just like it. btw the pipes are the Loch Sloy hydroelectric scheme, which empties into Loch Lomond.
Wait until we let you have a peek at our Trossachs :)

Welcome to where I live!

And yes, it IS one of the most beautiful places in the world. With the added advantage of the River Clyde just to the south (access via Rhu Marina, just west of Helensburgh) for some sea boating as well.

I'm really pleased you got to see it at its best. If you DO come back to the Loch, the public slipway is at Balloch and the National Park folk there are excellent.

Best wishes,

Rob

Yeh, it's doing quite well for the couple of hours it took me to make! Great for getting to know other members that you probably wouldn't have talked to otherwise.

Seems a great idea, I have seen the guys in Spain (St. Carles) have a similar arrangement, which to me seems great to be able to keep in regular contact with others who are near to your boat, or organise a trip etc..
