Commiserations mate. Know the feeling well. You're so pleased that you've researched the item, saved for it, bought it and then find that the five minute job turns into a three week marathon as it does not "quite" fit, or is not "quite" compatible.

Been there, seen it, done it, seen the film, got the T' Shirt as well as the memorablia mug.

Keep smiling - it could be worse. So he did keep smiling and Lo and Behold! It was worse!! (LoL)

Chin up - have a pint - it will look better in the morning as you can now justify to SWMBO just why you need a shiny new radar. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

You should worry. I had to get a new raydome last year, then a new auto pilot. Then I moved to Wales where the chart plotter dont work, cos it's obsolete.

So it's back to pencil and paper, to tell the chart plotter and auto pilot where to go. Then switch over to the little Garmin for the last bit.

Cant bear to throw all the perfectly good stuff away.

DON'T PANIC YET!

I checked on the Raymarine site for you: your scanner is compatible with E-Series (mine is a similar serial number).

Interpreting the serial numbers is a bit fiddly:

0251027 means
02 = February
5 = 2005
1027 = build#1027

SO when it says on the support document "Serial numbers older that 0530157 NOT compatible", you are fine, as the cutoff date was May 2003.

Woopeee--thanks for that. I just bought a new C80 as a stand alone plotter and didnt think I could use it for radar as well. My pathfinder dome was one of the last made so here`s hoping at the weekend.
