I tried this on the 'other' forum (PBO) without any response so excuse me for asking on this one, but I need to get some more 'Bavaria' teak decking.

It is actually a teak plywood. Not ideal but I want to replace some strips that the water has got under and rotted. Ideally in the Southampton / Portsmouth area... I dont really want to replace it with the 'good' stuff since I suspect the wear charateristics would be different... Anyone know a source?

thanks

I'd suggest you reconsider replacing it all with real stuff. You'll only be patching a new area each year if you replace like for like. There was a good feature in Sailing Today a couple of months ago, doing same job on a Moody I think it was, looked fairly straightforward.

Hmmm Plastic Teak... Yukkk Maybe I could use... errr chipboard decking, or errr MDF decking.... perhaps not, i'll stick to teak (from renewable sources of course !!!)

ta,

Replace it with proper teak. The veneered ply will only wear through again. Whilst that stuff may last a good while on areas lke the cockpit seats, it is not worth using it again in high wear areas like the bathing platform.
