Like Sailorman, never knew John, but knew his father and predecessor who had the living before him. Is there a Waller of the next generation, with a calling to folow in his Dad's footsteps?

Apologies, Sailorman, I misread your previous post. Do you know if there is any chance if yet another Rev. Waller of Waldringfield?

I must have met John, at least once at John Adams' funeral 5 or 6 years ago, but wouldn't say I knew him.

Haven't the Wallers been rectors of Waldringfield for about 5 generations?
Suggests they may own the advowson.
There are graves of several generations at Ramsholt churchyard, and R Simper in one of his books refers to their connection to Oliver Cromwell.

I have just received info on John`s Funeral.

Hi Roger just forwarding the club e mail,Best wishes to you and pam love martin and sylvia xx

Sad news. John Waller passed away on Sunday 22nd Dec. after a long fight against illness. John, the vicar of Waldringfield and well known to many of us, and had been Club Chaplain for very many years. John had been due to lead a carol service at Waldringfield on the Sunday evening but passed away earlier that day. His presence will be much missed and not only at the Yachtman's service which he organised each year.

John's funeral will be at Waldringfield Church on Wednesday 8th January at 1 p.m. The Club will be making a donation to St. Elizabeth Hospice in memory or John.
