The 6m Humber Rib just arrived! had to go and sign for the delivery during the lunch break! now the hard work begins! removing the engine and installing in on the new rib! Not sure if I have the right hammer drill to drill a hole into the transom!

So I will no longer have a cabin to stretch my legs and the other friends who come with me boating will get a wet bottom after sitting on the tubes!!!!

Has anyone here owns a rib? I know a couple of guys in the club own, but just wondered if any non-club member is also coming boating on the rib especially in the tidal part?! :)

Welcome to real boating!!

The tidal Thames is a great place to go boating, especially on a rib!

The rib is in my garage and last night I started removing the engine from the old boat and did some electrical installations on the new one. I will put a twin 70hp Evinrude on it so it should be fast and fun! Although my mum is here visiting me and she started complaining about the size of the engines and WHY 2 and not 1!!!

I was feeling quite old and usless with my old boat (I am just 28!), it was not big enough to sleep in it (no WC etc.) and not small enough to use it regularly without worrying about leaks, engine, steering, mooring lines, etc.. so it was more like a hassle for me than hobby...

I owned a rib before when I used to live in Canada. I had a 7m with inboard V6 which was ex seatow boat!!!

So no boating this weekend, just hard work! If you are interested to come and watch feel free to PM me!
