It would appear from the figures quoted above that yourselves are generally looking at a premium of around 0.5 - 0.7% - would any body else like to confirm what sort of % premium they are paying?

Consider yourselves lucky - out here in the lower Caribbean, a similar type of boat would typically be paying around 2% for private use - and a lot more if it is taking passengers out on day trips.
Yet IMHO, the risks are greater up your way, altho the insurance companies here do not agree - they are all wobbly kneed now re the threat of hurricanes. And because Antigua got clobbered a few times in recent years, this has an effect on us in Barbados 300 miles further south, who have only had a few fringes (gale force winds for a few hours typically) of hurricanes in the past 25 years or so.

Just for the record, if this makes you feel any better, commercial fishing boats here have to pay around 3% for fibreglass vessels, and 5% for timber vessels - despite the statistics proving that going to sea on a fishing vessel is much safer than driving on the highway - on average, less than 1 boat (out of almost 800) is lost each year.

Craftinsure.Just gone down to £240.00. sub 17knots value £33K.
Basic stuff cover,so if I drop my diamond encrusted one off Rolex over the side in Monte Carlo or my priceless collection of early Van Goghs kept on the boat gets wet, tough titty.

We just got an excellent quotation from Yachtmaster Insurance. They knocked the socks of GJW (who then dropped below the Yachtmaster price)

"who then dropped below the Yachtmaster price)"

Funny that.My premiums went up after a claim a few years ago and I did not bother to search round much because of that.
However this year did search and got quotes from 4/5 other companies all were about the same including my existing company which had reduced my premium quite dramaticaly. ?
