Just found my \"C1328 part 1\"depart to foreign dest. if i enter Uk wate

Came back to look though my books get my landrover overhauled. In a copy of "temptress reterns" was is a copy of western morning news for exeter & Truro july 18 1951 about the atlantic crossing by Edward Allcard (dose he post hear??)

And myPart 1 "for use as notice of intended departure to a foreign destination"

except the part one was sent off! I still have part two "for use as of arrival from foreign" And part 3 which is for me!!!

I left may 1981 and as yet havent reterned! Untill they invented GPS i couldent find the UK!!!My navigation wasent that good with all those tides!!!

I did try to get back in 1982/3 but ended up in cork! i sailed around Irland then again missed the UK compleatly!!!

Should i keep my part 2 just incase i retern to the UK??? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I also found a PBO plan for wind vane stearing on heavenly twins!By peter dresser i could scan and sent the artical if your interested 3 whole pages from PBO with diagrams and instructions for makeing it!

It uses trim tabs

I like the concept of power free seering, but have always been worried by wind steering on a cat. In certain gusty conditions, the boat can accelerate very quickly and steer so sharply that it puts the vessel into danger.

However dogwatch may be interested.

Says in the artical that they were sailing in f8/9 in the bay of Biscay??? Well its a PBO 80s artical good all the same vis a vis the self stearing!!

When i go on to my next retreat with a scanner ill send it to you? Or put it on esnips?? If i can?? Its three pages but very detailed for once!!

are you sure you want to return to UK, and could you afford to, a lot of us would like to leave because of the expense and availability of berthing. The French authorities don't seem to have the same blinkered outlook as some in the UK, they encourage boats to visit by building marinas etc which means they will use the facilities and spend money in the locality.

well?? France is bad for you!!To much sun (real danger of skin cancer which kills 90% within the first year!!!(i was shocked i thought skin cancer was easly treated) Good inexpensive wine!!! Bad for you beyond one glass!!

And we have the "Euro" which is a disaster!!If you had to pay 650 french francs for one night in and Italian port you would anchor but today at only 99 euros you would stay as its so inexpensive!!!

The UK is unhurried with green fields pubs that moderate your drinking at 5 bob a pint expensive!! Bernies steak inns where a good steak properly done that is quickly on a griddle with a large green salad £1 ! In France we pay £6!!!!

Petrol five and eleven a gallon!We pay almost £2.50 a gallon!!!! In the UK you can moore for free in the rivers out of channel and chandlers are far less expensive than in France or Italy!!!

Today i dont know where i would go?? and i dont have any charts of the UK umm perhaps ill just stay over hear.With my luck setting off again for the UK id end up in the azores??? Becouse id forgoten the spare batteries for my GPS!!
